Donate to Make a Difference

An investment in the Foundation for Defense of Democracies is an investment in the future of free nations. The returns on those tax-free investments are both tangible and intangible.

Many of our donors decide to make a difference in the battle to defend democracies against radical Islam by working with us as venture philanthropists. You can specify that your donation—and the support of others who share your concern—benefits an existing FDD project or a new initiative.

With the assistance of our investors, we have incubated a number of projects and organizations that achieve real measurable results: the Coalition Against Terrorist Media, the Committee on the Present Danger, the Future of Terrorism Project, the Center for Law and Counterterrorism, the FDD Campus Fellowships, the Investigative Reporting Project, the Center for Terrorism Research and Policy, and others.

We have incubated over a dozen other organizations and projects that we’d be delighted to discuss with you in person. These organizations and projects were inspired by and established through the ingenuity and support of our donors. We welcome your ideas for new organizations and projects that need to be developed to better fight the war of ideas.

FDD’s latest project on energy security is the focus of the 2008 annual leading Thinkers workshop featuring policy leaders, industry experts, journalists, and FDD supporters. If we are to win the war against militant Islamism, we must dramatically diminish the petrodollar power of oil-rich regimes such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Venezuela. Breaking the oil monopoly by transitioning to flexible-fueled vehicles may be the most rapid and effective means to that end.

Your investment in this and other FDD programs can take the form of a general donation, or it can be targeted to underwrite a specific program. Be it $25 or $25 million, all donations are tax deductible. FDD is a 501(c)(3) public charity.

Without the support of people like you—business leaders and policymakers with vision and commitment—the Foundation for Defense of Democracies cannot continue to make a real and measurable difference in the battle to defend democracies against radical Islam. Please consider making your investment in the future of freedom today.
